Crew Lead
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is directly responsible to the Operation Foreman for the operation and maintenance of utility’s storage and pumping facilities and distribution system. Duties include supervising helpers, assist in repairing water lines, and meter services, collecting samples, locating of water lines, maintaining required reports for the operational control of the distribution system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Arrive on time and ready to work
- Performs mechanical tasks in the repair, adjustment, and maintenance of the Pump Station, and Distribution System.
- Conducts regular inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment and turns in documentation to the office on such.
- Maintains records on monitoring daily chlorine residuals.
- Installs new water lines and meters for customer service.
- Reports and repair line breaks in a timely manner.
- Investigates leaks and repair as necessary.
- Performs mechanical tasks in the repair, adjustment and maintenance of the Pump Stations and distribution system.
- Must be available on call 24 hours as scheduled by the Operations Foreman.
- Maintenance of all facilities.
- Recommends treatment and transmission system improvements and expansions to the Operations Foreman.
- Submit accurate time reports to the Operations Foreman as directed.
- Be able to work in all types of weather.
- Be able to work well with fellow employees and contractors.
- Be able to take directions from the Operations Foreman.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years in water distribution. Requires Class “C” Water license. Must be able to operate tractor. Must have a clean driving record. Having a CDL is a plus but not required.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Knowledge of processes and equipment involved in water distribution desirable.
- Understanding of operational, administrative, practices and procedures involved in successful water distribution system desirable.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintains operational/equipment logs and records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to keep vehicles and work areas clean and orderly.
- Maintain adequate inventory of materials on hand.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $23.50 - $28.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
License/Certification:
- Class C Water Distribution License (Required)
